Hello there! My name is Ana Kostic. At age 18, I immigrated from Montenegro to the United States. After a year, I found myself missing the flavors of home, and the recipes that my family had passed down for generations.
So, before I could count to deset, I found myself in the kitchen, elbows deep in flour, recreating those distinct Balkan flavors and sharing the family traditions that I was raised with with my daughter (If you were wondering, her favorite recipe is my gluten free Vienna Cubes).
And, now, I would like to be able to share these recipes with you! Once you decide on a recipe, it’s time to roll up your sleeves, and turn the oven on as we begin our baking journey together!

Something inspired me to make a dessert with Easter egg candy, and I thought brookies (brownies + cookies) would be perfect! I’ve struggled with these in the past, but I finally nailed it. Here are a couple of tips that made all the difference:
Refrigerate the brownie batter while you prepare the cookie dough. This makes it easier to spread the cookie dough on top without making a mess!
After 15 minutes of baking, cover the pan with aluminum foil. This helps prevent the top from getting too brown while allowing the inside to cook through perfectly.
